Why Work With BMSLab

With more than 15 years of battery management systems research experience, BMSLab combines scientific rigor with hands-on expertise in battery testing, modeling, diagnostics, estimation, control, and algorithm validation. Our research spans the full path from theoretical method development to experimental validation and field-deployable battery technologies.

Our team has produced a scholarly book, patented technologies, and extensive peer-reviewed research while building collaborations with industry, government, academia, and community organizations. We also have substantial experience developing collaborative R&D projects within Canada's research-funding ecosystem.

Industry and Government Collaboration

We welcome collaborative research and technology-development opportunities involving battery diagnostics, characterization, modeling, BMS algorithms, experimental validation, and field-deployable battery technologies. BMSLab works with partners to address practical battery challenges and translate research advances into technologies for real-world applications.

Academic Collaboration

BMSLab welcomes research collaborations with academic researchers whose complementary expertise can advance battery science, engineering, and management technologies. We are particularly interested in interdisciplinary collaborations that connect battery materials, characterization, modeling, artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and real-world battery applications.

Research Training Opportunities

BMSLab provides research training opportunities for undergraduate, MASc, PhD, and postdoctoral researchers. Trainees gain hands-on experience in battery testing, modeling, estimation, diagnostics, algorithm development, and experimental validation using advanced battery research platforms.

Our researchers work at the intersection of theory, experimentation, and technology deployment, developing the technical, analytical, and collaborative skills needed for careers in academia, industry, and government.
